Farming Future Bangladesh (FFB) is a comprehensive communications initiative funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to help improve awareness about modern agricultural innovations including crop biotechnology in Bangladesh.
FFB has developed networking and partnership with existing journalist networks and organizations in Bangladesh for knowledge sharing and capacity building of national and regional level journalists on news reporting of genetic engineering, transgenic crop, and other applications of modern agribiotechnology.
The role of the media sector is very important to reach all stakeholder categories with evidence-based information. Keeping this view in mind, FFB has announced to launch a competitive media fellowship program. The focus of the program is to build up a long-term relationship with the journalists to effectively disseminate information on genetically engineered crops through media reports and coverage.
FFB has collaborated with the current journalist networks and organizations of Bangladesh for a sustainable partnership. Media professionals are now closely working for knowledge dissemination and communicating science at the national and regional levels.
