Farming Future Bangladesh (FFB) is a comprehensive communications initiative funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to help improve awareness about modern agricultural innovations including crop biotechnology in Bangladesh.

Media Publication ​

FFB maintains a dynamic website to disseminate messages with the targeted audience. Social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, is very effective in making information available across different stakeholder groups. FFB utilizes social media tools to effectively communicate with the mass people and end users. FFB has moderated a national level round table discussion on agri-biotech issues, which was followed by publication of a special newspaper supplement to reach end users and mass people.

Roundtable Discussion

Concerned biotech research officials and communication focal person of the respective NARS institutes are trained on agri-biotech science communication. Scientists and leadership members of agri-biotech projects are engaged in project communication and outreach activities.

OP-ED​

FFB is working with the Department of Agricultural Extension and Agriculture Information Service (AIS) under the Ministry of Agriculture for knowledge sharing and science communication capacity building of DAE and AIS officials. Selected officials of DAE and AIS has been trained on science communication, along with getting information on country’s transgenic crops and important agri-biotech social perception issues.

FFB has organized a national level media award program to highlight and appreciate agricultural journalists and feature their science-based media reporting. Journalists and reporters of Print, TV, Radio, Online media were awarded and recognized for their contribution in agricultural information sharing.
